About HFMA Show-Me Chapter
The Heathcare Financial Management Association is the professional membership organization for individuals involved in the financial management of healthcare. HFMA serves and represents members by:
Providing professional development through education, information, certification, peer interaction, and leadership training.
Influencing healthcare financial management and accounting policy decisions, principles, and practices through advocacy and dissemination of information.
Establishing and promoting the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.
HFMA is a national organization with more than 35,000 members who are employed by hospitals, integrated delivery systems, managed care organizations, medical practice groups, long-term and ambulatory care facilities, public accounting and consulting firms, insurance companies, government agencies, and other organizations.
HFMA is a 501(c)(6) Illinois corporation. Governed by HFMA's constitution and bylaws, elected National officers and directors manage HFMA affairs. Through the chapter and regional structure, all members have a role in providing input to HFMA's Board of Directors as they evaluate and determine HFMA's policies and direction. HFMA uses its collective voice to speak out on issues and works to strengthen cooperative relationships with other groups and associations.
HFMA has a number of standing committees including the Nominating Committee, the Audit and Finance Committee, the Executive Committee, and the Past Chairmen's Council. Other committees and task forces are designated either by the Chairman or the Board as the need arises. One of the concepts which has proven important in the consideration and policy direction is the Advisory Councils. These councils provide an effective communication process among all those involved in National leadership and serve as an advisory group to the Board.
Healthcare Financial Management Association Educational Foundation (HFMEF) is a 501 (c) (3) Illinois corporation through which grants and donations may be received. It provides educational programming and other services for the betterment of the profession.

HFMA Show-me Chapter strives to provide excellence in support for its members across the greater portion of Missouri.
